DMPS Chelation Therapy
DMPS is a sulphur based chelation compound designed to treat heavy metal toxicity. DMPS has the greatest affinity for removing mercury however it may also bind to lead, arsenic, cadmium and other toxic heavy metals in the body. For further information about heavy metal toxicity please refer to the above section entitled “Heavy Metal Urine Challenge.” DMPS treatment is preformed as a 20 minute intravenous push. Proper laboratory testing for kidney function (blood urea nitrogen), liver function (AST and ALT) and iron levels are required before proceeding with IV EDTA chelation therapy. These tests must be acquired through laboratory services.
